Each month the Board of Education recognizes a student who makes an impact at their school in a special way. The September 2026 Student of the Month is Colton Pope from NF Woods.
Colton’s journey at Woods is a great example of personal growth, perseverance, and what can happen when a student finds the right environment to succeed. Colton began at Woods Middle School halfway through seventh grade and is now a freshman at Woods High School. During his time at Woods, he has grown tremendously, both academically and personally.
When Colton first came to Woods, he did not enjoy school and struggled to see himself as a successful student. Today, he approaches school with a completely different mindset. He works hard in class, takes pride in his work, and has shown significant academic growth. More importantly, he has developed into a positive, respectful, and dependable young man.
Colton’s impact goes well beyond the classroom. He is kind and respectful to his classmates, makes an effort to include everyone, and is someone his peers can count on. He treats others with compassion and helps create a welcoming environment for everyone at Woods.
Colton represents the very best of what a Woods student can be. His growth is something to be proud of, and we are excited to see where his continued hard work and positive attitude take him. Congratulations, Colton, and thank you for being such a great example for our Woods community!
