Each year the Mooresville Christmas Parade means an early release for our students... Tuesday, November 25, get ready for all kinds of festive fun. All MGSD schools will have an early dismissal so students and staff can enjoy the annual Mooresville Christmas Parade!
🔴 High School @ 11:20 am
🟢 Middle Schools @ 11:55 am
🔴 Intermediate Schools @ 12:25 pm
🟢 Elementary Schools @ 12:40 pm
But the Mooresville Christmas Parade is simply the start of our MGSD Thanksgiving Break! This means there will be no school on Wednesday, November 26 – Friday, November 28.
We hope you enjoy the holiday parade, as well as delicious food and quality time with your loved ones over the Thanksgiving holiday. We are so grateful for our entire school community!
See you back on Monday, December 1, ready to finish out the calendar year!

Dear MGSD Parents and Community Members,
As the superintendent of the Mooresville Graded School District, it is my pleasure to serve this incredible community and welcome you to the 2025 – 2026 school year. We are excited about the opportunities this year will bring and remain committed to creating an environment where every student is empowered to grow, thrive, and succeed — academically, socially, and emotionally.
We take great pride in our tradition of excellence, which is evident in the accomplishments of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the ongoing support of our families and community partners. As we look ahead, our focus remains on providing innovative, engaging, and rigorous learning experiences that equip our students for long-term success and help strengthen our broader community.
We recognize that the success of our schools is deeply rooted in the strength of our partnerships. We invite and encourage you to stay actively involved in your child’s educational journey and to take part in school events and district initiatives. The relationships we build with our families and community are vital to the work we do.
Effective communication is essential to maintaining these partnerships. We encourage you to regularly visit our district website, follow our social media channels, and utilize the ParentSquare app to stay up to date on important announcements and events. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers, school leaders, or our Central Office.
Together, we can continue to build a supportive educational environment that inspires every student to reach their full potential. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the Mooresville Graded School District.
Here’s to a fantastic 2025 – 2026 school year!
Kind regards,
Jason Gardner, Ed.D.
